Art Deco Birthday Cards

I have in my possession a large scrapbook that belonged to my great-grandmother, Alice. She died before I was born, so I never knew her. When she got married in 1924, she started collecting greeting cards that she received over the years, beginning with her wedding, the birth of her children, and eventually valentines, holiday greetings, and birthday cards. She filled every page, and the last page is of holiday cards in December, 1941.

I’m going to share a few of these cards at a time, and I thought I’d start with the birthday cards. There are so many classic elements of design of the time period used in these pretty cards. You’ll see what I mean.
