Strike It Up

My apartment is on the small side and I don’t generally welcome all manner of tchotchkes cluttering up the place.  That said, my new squirrel match strike from Jonathan Adler adds a dash of plucky cuteness and wonderful function to whatever room he happens to be in, so he gets a pass.
The base of this piece of pottery has ridges on it, and that’s where the match gets enough friction to, as I may or may not have said in college, “get lit.”
Everybody’s nuts (see what I just did there?) for woodland creatures these days. Owls had their moment in the sun, and now it’s all about foxes and other little animals with hooves, antlers, or whom otherwise make their home in the forest.
