Shop Update: The Last Rose of Summer

During this transitory time of year, it’s songs like this one and this one that I turn my ears and heart to.  Summer and fall sharing the same space brings up conflicting feelings for me.  With that in mind, it’s time to show you what might be the most lovely dress that has ever been in the shop.
It’s an Emma Domb silk party dress with a poofy tulle underskirt. A yellow, green, brown and gray floral brushstroke swoops and swirls around the bodice and full skirt, and an organdy yellow sash sweeps in a waterfall down the right hip.
Based in San Francisco, Emma Domb was a dressmaking company that was active from 1939 through the 1970s, specializing in wedding, party, prom dresses and fancy-date ensembles.  For more of this dress, go here.
