Tuesday is Shoesday!

These late 1960s/early 1970s platforms have an interesting history.
Of course they’re cute as can be (and quite a small size) but after researching the origins of the Millies chain in China, I came to learn that this is a business that is still in operation.
Millies first opened in 1960 as a shoe store exclusively catering to Chinese women. It was the first Chinese business to have their products made in Italy and then imported back to China. They are no longer located on Hanoi Road, but they have expanded to many other locations throughout the country. They continue to sell contemporary ladies’ footwear.

The platforms are in wonderful shape, although the sizing is a bit of a mystery. How does a Chinese size 22 from decades ago translate to shoe sizes today? Take a look at the measurements I took and see what you think.
